A Wild Update Appears!

How’s it going? You might’ve noticed I went through a (brief) period of posting pretty much every day. I think it lasted for about a week. That wasn’t the intention, but some things have cropped up and completely changed my plans. You might even recall a post I put up in January where I decided I was going to travel halfway around the world this year (Actually it was more like 1/8th around the world, but still). I have reasons! Some slightly, maybe, a little bit exciting reasons!

Initially, I’d planned (after losing my previous job) to fast track my visa and head off around the world. That didn’t work out quite to plan. Largely because I’ve been extremely lazy, but also because I met one of those weird other-gender creatures that kept my attention and kept me grounded (sort of) in the UK. TLDR, I didn’t go teaching around Europe as my back up plan dictated.

Instead I rewrote my plans. Some of my amazing master plan is top secret. You’ll understand when I finally reveal it at some point in the future, but for now you’ll have to take my word for it.

Being unemployed and stuff means my travel fund is pretty limited, though I’ve still managed to organise dragging my, and my better half’s asses over to Germany in early August (#excited) so now you know. Well, some of it.

And for the reason I’ve been so ridiculously inactive on here. Well, partly, because I’m working through a photography course. It’s pretty intensive and hopefully will give me a few new ideas and tricks I can use to actually get some of those bloody picture that I envision that just straight up escape me. It’s happening far too often so I need some thing.

It’s not all that though. My memory card died. That SD card had pretty much 30 gig of photos and videos on it. Gutted is an understatement, but it’s life. I have some jpeg and some raw files saved but I’ve lost the crappy blurred pictures I wanted to keep (I know I shouldn’t, but I like to remember my failures too!). The thing with losing all those files means I’ve had to work from back ups which aren’t easily accessible for me to edit. Seriously slowing down my processing speed. It sucks. It’s life. We’ll all get over it 🙂

Finally, I’ve accepted (and since started) a new job. It’s about time. I’ve been sat on my arse for a lot longer than I should have. It’s a pretty exciting role with a really cool company. I’ve even got some fun colleagues (I’m going by first impressions here, don’t let me down guys!) so all in all, it’s pretty great. It’s not easy preparing and settling into a new job, and my commute, coupled with my photography course, and seeing the new people in my life, has left me with, well, not a lot of time to be writing these posts up.

Of course, it isn’t all doom and gloom, and I won’t be leaving you to enjoy the peace and quiet without me. I’ll be done with my course by the end of July, so at that point things should start moving quickly again. Bear with me you sexy beasts.
